Ep. 11: R.I.P. Neil Peart - A RUSH Special

Episode Summary

It is with heavy hearts that we deliver this week’s episode about the Professor; Mr. Neil Ellwood Peart. The RUSH drummer and lyricist passed away on January 7, 2020, at the young age of 67 after battling brain cancer. Kevin has a very deep connection to RUSH and Neil as a lifelong fan and student of their music. While not an obscure band by any means (the Rock & Roll Hall-of-Famers had 24 gold records and 14 platinum records [including 3 multi-platinum]), the duo attempts to offer some songs that are a bit more unknown and left of center. Excuse Kevin’s getting a little choked up at the end, but this loss was a tough one.

Episode Notes

New to InObscuria? Typically what we do is exhume obscure Rock n' Punk n' Metal in one of 3 categories: the Lost, the Forgotten, or the Should Have Beens. In the case of this particular episode, we are leaning towards the FORGOTTEN. Although, a band that is fifth behind The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, KISS, and Aerosmith for the most consecutive gold or platinum studio albums by a rock band in the United States is hardly forgotten… In any case, we are paying tribute to one of the greatest drummers of all time! Rest In Peace Neil. There will never be another like you!

Songs this week include:
