Ep. 51: Grave Mistake: MOTHER SUPERIOR Shoulda Been Huge!!!

Episode Summary

This week is our fifth installment of an ongoing series called “Grave Mistakes: They Shoulda Been Huge!!!”. In this episode, we feature a much talked about yet underappreciated rock outfit who made waves throughout Southern California and beyond: MOTHER SUPERIOR! Although they became known as the new “Rollins Band” in 1998, Henry Rollins actually snatched up this already established group from the studio after producing their 3rd album “Deep”. This amazing power-trio embodies everything we love about rock music, as they competently cover the spectrum of rock n’ punk n’ metal with a heavy dose of blues-based classic rock.

Episode Notes

This episode is obviously rooted firmly in our Should Have Been category. Mother Superior may be the most obscure band that we’ve covered on a “Grave Mistakes…” episode yet. They may be recognized for their name from a Rollins Band or Motor Sister perspective, but their full discography as Mother Superior has been lost on most and needs some love! We hope we turn you on to this amazing rock n’ roll force!

Songs this week include:

  1. “Can You Hear Me?” from Heavy Soul Experience Of Mother Superior (1996)
  2. “Got A Thing About Yout” from Kaleidoscope (1997)
  3. “Cool Cool Breeze” from Mother Superior (2001)
  4. “Strange Change” from Sin (2002)
  5. “Fuel The Fire” from 13 Violets (2004)
  6. “This Song Reminds Me Of You” from Moanin’ (2005)
