Ep. 74: Reigniting Power Pop!

Episode Summary

According to the “wiki”, this week we bring you melodic hooks, syrupy vocal harmonies, energetic performances, and "happy"-sounding music! Better said: POWER POP! These are the kinds of jams that your 2 hosts can consume in mammoth proportions! That’s right; get up and get moving this week as we present a mix of bands from the past 40-years. These bands will give you something to sing along with, while they crack you in the ribs with fantastically distorted guitars!

Episode Notes

What’s this InObscuria thing? We’re a podcast that exhumes obscure Rock n' Punk n' Metal and puts them in one of 3 categories: the Lost, the Forgotten, or the Should Have Beens. This time around we are bringing you to the buffet to consume all 3. This is the start of what we hope will be a new series full of great sonic offerings. Crack a beer and enjoy!

Songs this week include:

  1. Sloan - “Money City Maniacs” from Navy Blues (1998)
  2. The Babys - “Midnight Rendezvous” from Union Jacks (1980)
  3. Solid Frog - “Goin’ Pro” from Pepper Spray (1997)
  4. Kaiser Chiefs - “Spanish Metal” from Off With Their Heads (2008)
